| Overview
Automated UT requires a mechanical device or bug
to move transducers over the inspection zone. We call these devices
scanners. Whether the scanner is manually moved or motorized, all
scanners have an encoded axis, allowing the data systems to know
the position of each and every recorded wave form. Knowing this
encoded information, the data system is then capable of imaging
the digitized data and can ensure full coverage of the inspection
zone.
However, there is no one scanner that can accomodate all applications.
Automated Inspection Systems has developed many
field proven scanners to meet most customer needs. We can also modify
our scanners to meet exacting customer requirements if there are
applications that might require interfacing to a pre-existing scanner
or the design of completely new scanning device.
